Alpine Style No 6 2007 - David Sly
2004 Don Kinloch Sparkling "Wine maker Howard Anderson in Rutherglen prepares this rich, full bodied sparkling wine for Kinloch Wines, using the classic French trio of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier (estate fruit) to arrive at a very plush, yeasty style. Named Don Kinloch after Malcolm's late father, it's an elegant wine, with a rich creamy mousse and lush palate. Only smal quanitites are produced and demand exceeds supply!"

Kinloch Merlot 2005
"From a small winery in Mansfield, in the cool climate Central Victorian High Country, this is really approachable, juicy young merlot, full of dark purple berries and just enough of that typical regional minty/gumtree mist perfume to give it interest and character. Lovely with simple grilled lamb chops. 13.8% alc"

Jeff Gordon highly recommends Kinloch Chardonnay 2002 and Pinot Meunier 2003 in his reviews of the Upper Goulburn Wines.

James Halliday’s Wine Companion 2008

.5 glasses:

Wild Ferment Chardonnay 2005 - Plenty of depth of ripe stonefruit - the oak not overplayed - quite complex - Rating 90

glasses:

Sauvignon Blanc 2006 - Clear-cut, though not boisterous, varietal character, gentle tropical fruit, with some additional herbal/grassy/mineral notes. Rating 89

Don Kinloch Sparkling White 2004 - Crisp, clean and lively stone fruit and citrus; good mousse, and finishes with good acidity. Rating 89

Chardonnay 2003 - Still very fresh and flavoursome, driven by ripe, swqeet, stone fruit; good length. Rating 88

Merlot 2005 - The dominant red fruits (cassis/redcurrant) are strange bedfellows to find such persistent tannins. Rating 87

Mary Friend 2004 - Bright colour; fresh and lively, but has had to struggle for organaleptic ripeness; minty, green leaf flavours. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot. Rating 87.

Max Allen on Kinloch Pinot Meunier 2002

Excerpt from “Star Recruits – Old-world vines flourish under southern skies” The Australian Weekend Magazine – 2 May 2004

"For the first couple of years after vintage,
meunier can be deceptively light, raspberryish
and minty, as you can taste in both the current
vintage 2000 Best's 1860 Vines Pinot Meunier
(about $35) and the Kinloch Pinot Meunier
(about $25), from a much younger vineyard
near Mansfield, in Victoria's High Country.

Give it a few years in the bottle, though the
meunier heads into far more interesting,
savoury, ethereal, autumnal-forest flavour
territory. It can also age superbly; the Best's"
